Community Service What I make with my hands, I give of my heart. Mountain Laurel Quilters enjoy being a part of Project Linus and creating blankets, quilts and afghans for needy, sick and abused children. We meet at Paula's Quilting Pantry in East Bernstadt on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at 10:00 a.m. and bring potluck. We have lots of fabric to be cut and sewn, so come on down and lend a hand. I promise, YOU will be blessed. Find out more about the organization on their national website http://www.projectlinus.org. Pat Klink is our local Chapter Coordinator and can be reached at peklink@roadrunner.com.
My heart was thinking of you, My hands knew what to do. This blanket grew out of the love I want to share with you. I hope it will keep you warm, And befriend you late at night. I hope you'll come to love it And be comforted by its sight. Let this blanket wrap you in friendship, And cover you in love. Because this blanket was thinking of you Long before it was even done. ©1999 Suzanne Gonzalez for Project Linus |
